I backed up my configuration from 2.2 Beta 2 and then installed Beta 3 and restored my config as the last step of setup. All seemed well except the Content Filter of the HTTP Proxy was no longer enabled. Web access worked (unrestricted). I edited the Default Policy rule so Content Filtering was enabled and clicked Save and Reload as well as Save and Restart on the Configuration tab. The Content Filter continues to show the status as STOPPED and attempts to access web pages are now blocked. The web error is: The requested URL could not be retrieved While trying to retrieve the URL: http://the [^] URL I was trying to access The following error was encountered: Unable to forward this request at this time. Sorry, you are not currently allowed to request: http://the [^] URL I was trying to access from this cache until you have authenticated yourself. This request could not be forwarded to the origin server or to any parent caches. The most likely cause for this error is that: The cache administrator does not allow this cache to make direct connections to origin servers, and All configured parent caches are currently unreachable. Your cache administrator is ...me.... ------------- When I change the policy to stop filtering and restart the proxy then I can access web sites again. I have also rebooted a couple of times thinking that might help but it did not. |

I suppose I should also add that I am using the HTTP proxy in Transparent mode with "none" as Authentication Type. |

Please upload the attached rpm to your system (with SSH/SCP) and install it with "rpm -Uhv efw-dansguardian*.rpm", then run "restartdansguardian". It should solve the problem. |

Thank you. I reproduced the problem on totally different hardware and then attempted your fix. Here is the output: root@endian:~ # rpm -Uhv efw-dansguardian*.rpm Preparing... ########################################### [100%] 1:efw-dansguardian ########################################### [100%] error: unpacking of archive failed on file /etc/dansguardian/blacklists/hacking/domains;47a4a8dc: cpio: MD5 sum mismatch root@endian:~ # restartdansguardian root@endian:~ # As you can see, the RPM upgrade returned an error. I proceeded anyway and confirmed that things were not fixed. I even turned all the filtering off, rebooted, tried the fix again, and then attempted to re-enable filtering. Still not working. |

I tried this again on a third machine. This time, I did not restore a backup. I had the same problem again, however. I installed the RPM and ran restartdansguardian. This time the RPM upgrade was a success. (Last time, I made the mistake of transferring the rpm file in ASCII mode - doh!) However, the problem still persists. |

I finally got this to work. I believe it was a matter of sequence. I started the Content Filter without the Antivirus option enabled and it finally started. Then, I added the Antivirus option and now it's all working like a charm. I'm pretty sure I tried that sequence on the first 2 systems and it didn't work. However, those systems had the configuration restored from a previous 2.2 Beta whereas this one was fresh and clean. |
